I need some help picking out a policy for my puppy/dog (age 1). I would perfer one that would cover things like shots and if necessary allergy tests, shots, etc and surgery if necessary.

I am signed up with Banfield the pet hospital. They have several plans and all of them cover all the shots and free visits.
Some surgeries are included others you will have a co-pay.
They have been very good to my dog over the past 3 years.

Your best bet is to talk to a vet. Here in the usa, pet insurance isn’t true insurance. It’s not regulated, standardized, guaranteed, etc, and you don’t need a license to sell it.
Also, every policy I’ve ever heard of, reimburses you after you pay your vet.
