I will not be including my current loans n the bankruptcy

    depends on what kind of school loans you’re getting. if they are government loans that you get based on need, yes, you can still get them. if they are credit based, possibly not.

    If you file bankruptcy, I may be wrong, but I think your student loans will automatically be included. By filing, you are saying in effect that you cannot afford to pay your debts. I’m not sure the law will allow you to add “except for these ones”. Check with a lawyer.

    A better choice would be to reorganize your debt with your lenders and work out a plan for longer term repayment. If you do declare bankruptcy, it will follow you around forevermore, and will impact the loans & rates you are able to get in the future.

    If I were you, and I’m glad I’m not, I think I would go back to grade school and take a few budgeting/finance classes.
