Where can I get a reasonable interest rate auto loan with bad credit? I’ve been quoted 18.99%?

Question by Neata: Where can I get a reasonable interest rate auto loan with bad credit? I’ve been quoted 18.99%?
I’ve been quoted 18.99% on with a 630 credit rating. Is this something I should expect and suck it up and deal with it?

Hate to be discouraging, but with a 630 you’re unlikely to get a desirable loan anywhere. However, with a credit score that damaged, I would advise against taking out loans at all until you can bring it up somewhat. Otherwise you’ll A. wind up paying more, and B. risk getting into even further credit trouble if something comes up and you’re unable to match the abnormally high interest rates.

If waiting isn’t an option, I think maybe you’ll just have to suck it up and deal with it. But with credit that bad, seriously, I would put off buying a new car or any other major expenses until you’re in better shape.

For advice and tips on repairing your credit score, I recommend websites like http://www.onlinecreditscoring.com/credit/index.php, they’re where I get most of my information and they’re pretty helpful.

Auto finance is what I do for a living and any more a 630 score is not considered good when it comes to financing a vehicle.

Plus a lot of it is what makes up your score, you might have a thin file, not been in the bureaus long enough or simple not have enough lines of credit.

I have seen people with scores of 700 not be able to finance a car because their score is based on 1 credit card with a $ 500.00 limit paid 12-times.

So, if your getting quoted 18.99% their is a reason. You can always make a large enough down payment and get a lower rate.

If this is not a option, you may have to live with it for a couple of years until your score and profile becomes better and then refinance through your own bank or credit union.

And believe it or not 18.99% is not that bad I used to work in Iowa and I contracted people every day at 27% and they were glad to get it.

    Begin sucking.

That is what happens when you have crappy credit. You get to pay more for money.
