State Farm. You know, “like a good neighbor, state farm is there”…that stupid jingle on the radio. They would have us fight claims that were so obviously our customers’ fault, and then when someone actually needed a payout, they would have us delay it and screw it up as long as possible before lawyers stepped in, even sending them out to the right address with the wrong name so that we could “say” we paid them “technically”, but making it near impossible for the victim to claim anything. Also, when people just had liability coverage and got in trouble or hurt someone, we were supposed to lie about it to the victim or auto repair, saying they had more coverage, trying to get work done for free or not have to pay out, and then play stupid later when people found out we had lied. I couldn’t handle playing victims like fools and letting irresponsible people get away with *sometimes literal* murder.

Mega Health and Life. I have not worked for them, but I am a medical biller and work with them. They pretend to help self employed and lower income families, stating that their premiums are low – well that’s because they pay NO BENEFITS!! You have a cap of $1000 a year and then the rest is the patients responsibility. They are charging $150/mo ($1800/year) to pay for $1000 in medical bills?!? The worst is the cancer policy that they sell people that pays $1000 – $5000 a year depending on your monthly premium. Anyone with cancer can tell you that $5000 will pay for 1 month of Chemo and ancillary medications. Now these patients have to pay all the medical bills themselves AND the monthly premium for the Mega insurance. That’s why they are being sued in a few states!

Mega!! There are brokers out here selling people the wrong stuff and folks are left with a big bill. It’s sad. It’s all about the dollar with most agent, that why the rest of us are getting a bad rap.
