How much money should an insurance customer service rep make?

Just inquiring about how much the average customer service rep for an insurance agency would make. I possibly might be in need of raise.

    Depends on where you live.

I don’t know about TN but in NM they make $7-10 an hour depending on experience and if you have a solicitors license

First you need to define what you, as a CSR, actually do. Customer service implies that you are sitting in front of a computer/phone taking calls from customers with problems/issues. If that’s what you do and it requires only communications skills and doesn’t actually involve selling, then it sounds like a job that’s worth in the $7 to $10/hr range. If you are selling or generating revenue for the company, then that’s different. You also haven’t said how long you’ve been there…if you haven’t been there longer than a year then you aren’t likely to get a raise, and even then it would depend on job performance. What it boils down to is…how much skill is required for the job, what similar jobs pay elsewhere in your city/town, and whether you generate any revenue or not (do you actually sell something). Hope this helps.
