What kind of insurance company do I go through to insure a rock show?
Setting up a rock concert through a venue and they require me to have insurance, in case something happens like someone gets hurt or the venue breaks apart. What kind of insurance am I supposed to go through? Who should I call?

Liability, maybe property and casualty – talk to any insurance agent – not all companies may be willing to insure such an event, so you may have to talk to several
I would talk to the business manager at a local venue that has had that sort of show before, to see which companies they use. Or, do a google search for what I believe they refer to as “event insurance”. These are relatively inexpensive policies that are only valid for, say, a 24 hour period. I have dealt with such policies, but I was using our local high school auditorium, and it was gospel music, not rock, so obviously it wasn’t quite the same thing. LOL
You’ll probably have to go through someone who does mainly business insurance. This is going to be a high risk event, and a lot of places will just say no. It might be costly, but at least you’re only covering one night.
Look up insurance in the phone book, and call people who say they do business insurance. They should be able to tell you specifically what you need.
OK, they’re asking for liability and bailee coverage.
You need to call a local, independent agent, and get some quotes. Depending on the band, I’d imagine it’s going to run you AT LEAST $2500 for the special event coverage.
I agree with MB, and you might want to look into an event CANCELLATION policy in the event that the concert gets rained out or it gets cancelled for some reason.
You need to look for someone that will write “short term” SPECIAL EVENT liability. I did a quick GOOGLE and found these guys: http://www.eqgroup.com/entertainment.htm(not that I know anything about them) But, for all practical purposes – the look like they offer what you are looking for. Whether or not they are licensed in your State is another question that needs answering.
Good luck and I hope this helps!
