Can getting credit cards and paying them off immediately improve your credit score?
I read about this lady and her husband that had credit scores of about 500 each and they went out and got credit cards and would pay them off as soon as they used them and their scores increased 100 pts after 4 months of doing this. Can someone actually do that? And what are some ways to fix your credit score?

Sure you can do that, but if they had paid on their credit cards for say 6 months before they paid them off, their score might have been even higher.
It’s about your consistency in paying bills.
To get a debt (credit) score, you have go into debt.
To earn credit and/or fix your credit score, you probably shoulddd get a credit card. It’s okay to always have a bit of a balance on your credit card, and from what I’ve heard, it’s actually preferred…I think bc it shows that you’re still using it. All you have to do is keep paying it off, not necessarily just the minimum every month. I like to pay mine (since its so easy to do on my bank account page online) a few times a month when I have money to. My credit score (the last time I checked) was excellent! I was also almost finished paying off school loans though, so that helped a ton.
Credit cards are a great way to raise your score. I have 3 that I use for most everything I buy every month and always pay them off in full before the due dates.
In the last couple of years I have raised my score over 150-points and made several hundred dollars in cash back rewards and never paid a penney in interest or fees. Not bad for using someone elses money for free.
And you don’t have to worry about carrying a balance, the difference between the billing date and the due date will always leave a small balance to be reported.
Yes, paying off credit cards immediately can improve your score. However, obtaining more cards sometimes lowers your score, even if you pay immediately. Also, having negative information removed from your credit report can be more beneficial in some cases.
