What is the best way to get your insurance info in the ER?
What would be the best way in a patients point of view to get their insurance info, demographics, etc? I work in the ER and need suggestions for small overalls in the dept, I want to make it easy, let me know! When you check in, in your room? Check out? Thanks!

Of course it would be easier on the way out, but that’s just not going to work. Period.
I’m sure your ER has protocols for how you are to do this. Trying to change it up is probably not a good idea.
I HATE giving demographics info. It’s pointless, IMO, and contributes towards racism. Best way is to set up an online pre-registration database, and patients can pre-register from home. Then when they get there you photocopy the insurance card and license, to be sure the info is legit.
