Questions regarding assignment of insurance agents of a certain race?

An insurance company has found that black people are more likely to buy from insurance if approached by a black agent, while white people are more likely to buy if approached by a white agent. The company plans to assign black agents to predominantly black neighborhoods and white agents to predominantly white neiborhoods. Is this practice legal? Why or why not?

This is fine as long as they are not kept from selling to the other race.

It sounds legal – they are trying to sell more policies which is their job and based on research, they think they know how. If they prevent you from selling somewhere you want to sell, I think there might be a problem with that…..

    that’s horses**t!

In my agency there is no color barrier – ONLY the color of MONEY!!

If you want to play the same tune – I have seen all color of agents rip off their own people of color – so it is a fiduciary responsibility that we have to protect the consumer.
