Do people charge mortgages through their bank’s credit cards if the same bank handles both transactions?

I am getting my mortgage through the bank where I have a credit card.

Is it standard and normal practice to set up payment through the credit card?

No. payments will come directly from your checking account.

Most people pay via check, or direct debit from their checking account. You probably could pay with a credit card, but I’ve never tried to do that. The mortgage holder might not accept credit card payments, I suppose.

It is common for some to apply for and get a mortgage loan through a bank in which they have a credit card.

Paying your monthly mortgage payment through a credit card could be expensive with the interest rate charged to your credit card. You might do this, however, it would not be a wise financial decision.

You would be the one making this decision, I know some that use their credit card to make their rental income each month, so making your monthly mortgage payment is not that much of a stretch.

It is normal to use your checking account as the vehicle to pay your monthly mortgage payment.

I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck.
