Is this considered a pre existing condition by insurances?

My dog hurt her leg last thursday. Today the doctor said it might be a torn knee/leg ligament and that it might require surgery. If I get pet insurance today, would that count as a pre existing condition and not be covered?

Yes, it woudn’t cover her already existing injury.

    Pre means ‘before.”

Yes, it happened before the insurance so therefore it is PRE-existing. If it happens after the insurance starts then it is POST-existing.

Simply look at what you are trying to do….you want to start the policy on your dog…pay a SMALL premium ….then take your dog for his EXPENSIVE surgery and have the insurance company pay for the whole surgery!! Does that sound fair….does that sound right? I think you already know the answer to your question!
