Two insurances how will it work at the hospital when I deliver..?
I have a real good insurance through my husband that covers 80% and the other 20% is left for me to pay, but I have insurance through my employer, but its alil different.on the other one I have to pay first the $1,500 and the rest of the bill the insurance pays the 80% and whatever is left I pay. How will this work when I go and deliver, Thank you.. I hope I explained myself.

your insurance is the primary carrier and your husbands is secondary. they will both pay according to their respective plans. it is called coordination of benefits.
The insurance through your employer, is primary, and through your husband’s employer is secondary.
How the benefits coordinate, can depend on what state you are in, and how exactly the policies are written, HOWEVER.
What’s probably going to happen, assuming (as an illustration) $10,000 for the hospital birth –
Your insurer will pay ($10,000 minus your deductible = 8500 times .80) $6800. Your husband’s insurance would pay $1200 ($10,000 times .80 minus what your insurance paid), leaving you to pay $2,000.
However. Almost half of all hospital births are C sections, so the POTENTIAL is pretty high, for this to cost you a lot more. You probably want to check the “maximum out of pocket” amount for both plans.
sometimes if you are lucky enough, the second insurance pays all of the co-insurance and you will owe nothing. the baby is automatically covered for 30 days after birth. the policy of the person who was born first in the year is primary for the baby. so if you were born may of 1970 and hubby was born october 69, your insurance will be first since you were born first.
