Are there any short term insurances for things like boarding school?
I’m entering boarding school for the 2008-2009 freshman school year. However, I need medical insureance. So I was wondering if there were any sort of insureance plans especially designed for students like that, only for enough time for me to be in school?

Depending on where you live YES there are short-term insurace plans available through private carriers. They will provide coverage for a specific number of days at your choice, or up to 6 months at a time. They’re pretty easy to qualify for, and are generally less expensive that your traditional private coverage. If you go onto an insurance sales website you can see if the short-term coverage is available in your area. You should be able to find a plan that will cover you if you get sick while at boarding school, that won’t cost a ton of money.

Yes, but look at permanent coverage as some times it actually costs less. AND, short term policies (although 6 months is common) can some times be purchased for up to 12 months at a time.
