get a new paint job on insurances behalf?

First off i don’t care if its a felony or morally wrong to lie to the insurance agency? I think its more wrong to take way more money than what your cars worth for insurance. I’m wondering if any one out there has a good way to get a paint job out of the insurance companies. I’m thinking of lying about hail damage or taking a key to my car. After i file my claim ill move on to a different insurance agency so my rates don’t go up.

Since you lack scruples, I suggest that you review your auto insurance policy before damaging your car. Most likely, you have a deductible which you would have to pay before the insurance company pays.

To get a paint job from the insurance company, you will need to file a claim. For hail damage, it is easy to prove or disprove. As for taking a key to the car, the same. When you file a claim, they either assign a auto appraiser that looks at the damage or tell you to take to a body shop for an estimate.

Just because you report something does not mean they just take your word. The appraiser or body shop will confirm what the damages of your car is. Another thing, to get a paint job, your entire car would have to be damaged. Say for instance you scrape 1 side of the car, then that side of the car would be repaired/painted only. Body-shops do a great job matching up paint to your old paint. So in effect if you scraped it, you would have to go around the entire car, hood, truck, top of your car etc which in reality no one would do.

Now you also have to consider that you will have to pay upfront your deductible, which most likely will be about $500, before the insurance company pays a dime. If this is a old car, they might just total it, meaning they pay you the value of the car that it is worth; ie; $2,500 and you get no new paint job, they take your car and you have to buy another with that money.

So now when you change companies, even if you do not disclose that you had a claim with the prior company, it will be on a CLUE report, that all companies subscribe to. The new company will charge you more, since you had a claim.

For the scraping, most likely will need to file a police report for the vandalism and guess what that is fraud. If you ever saw hail damage, you know what it looks like, and guess what, you have to prove that there was hail on the date you submit your claim. If it has not rained for a week and there was no hail, you could not have hail damage.

Sorry, this wont work, if you want a good paint job, then you will have to pay yourself.
