You might want to check out your local mortuary and/or cemetery and get some info on their pre need plans. They are often very inexpensive if you are paying for things ahead of time. Plus you would get to pick out what type of services you would like to have.
What you PAY, is based on how old and how healthy you are, and how much coverage you want. Any A rated carrier is reliable – if you don’t lie on the application.
Be careful. Anything that inexpensive is usually term coverage which means if you don’t die by a certain date you will lose your coverage and all the money you paid for it.
Term is not good for funeral planning.
I would recommend buying an insured plan through your local funeral home. An independent insurance agent can also sell final expense plans but with fewer guarantees. Avoid plans that are sold by mail or 1-800 numbers.
