I am wanting to start a small cleaning business in NC. Can anyone tell me what insurances I need to have.?

At the very least you need to obtained General Liability coverage and Workers Compensation coverage is required in most states. I’m not sure about NC so you will have to talk to an agent about it.
Also your agent will also recommend obtaining coverage for losses to property in your care, custody and control in the case something is lost or damaged that is valuable.

I agree the two most important insurances are liability (it may be called a bond in NC-your insurance agent will know) and worker’s comp. Call around to all the insurance agencies to get quotes on the liability insurance so you get the best price…it can vary!
A suggestion-if you are just starting out, I would begin either solo or with only one employee, then as business grows, add more…unless you already have many accounts lined up. It is time consuming and can be problematic when you have multiple employees and it’s best to learn your business and have established clients before you add that factor.
