akita. My parents want to give it away, but i like to keep it.

The insurance guy said, No one would sell you house insurance with this dog, when my mom ask to switch insurances.

I heard some places do sell insurance to akita dogs, but its alot more money, is this true?

State Farm accepts all breeds of dogs. Try them. There are probly other companies that do to but I only know that State Farm does.

So your question is basically, “Why won’t someone give me liability insurance when I have a dog from a dangerous breed?” You might be able to obtain insurance if they exclude coverage for dog bites, injury, and death.

If the dog has ever bitten anyone, the insurance guy is right.

If you have NO bites, then you can buy insurance through Foremost Insurance, but they’ll make you sign a dog bite exclusion form – that means, they don’t cover bites.

Foremost is a high risk homeowners insurance company, so yes, the coverage won’t be as good, AND the policy will cost a lot more.
