I have applied for health insurance and can’t qualify, what do I do?

I am employed full-time by a small business owner that can’t offer health insurance. I am willing to pay whatever it takes but have applied for multiple insurances and have been turned down multiple times. What are my choices now?
I live in Floriday and I have been turned down for insurance because of several pre-existing conditions (asthma, and PCOS).

Check with the State agency like Human Services for a pool insurance plan to cover high-risk individuals.

    WHY are you turned down?

    Post this question again with
    1) the name of your state
    2) the reason why the insurance companies rejected you

There are guaranteed issue policies for which you cannot be rejected, but they are different in each state.

Depends on why you were turned down, and what state you are in.

Clearly, you don’t live in a “guaranteed issue” state, or they would have offered you coverage, even if it’s exhorbitantly priced (think, thousands a month).

You should probably talk to a local health insurance broker. You can also see if your state has a high risk health insurance fund – and if it does, you can check their website to see if you qualify.

Lastly, you can start looking for a new job. Sounds to me like health insurance is worth a pay cut.

Call a local insurance agent where you live and ask if he can sell you some kind of insurance policy. If there are none who will take you, all you can do is see a doctor in a community health or public health clinic which charges based on your income. Since most Americans don’t want the public option, that is the unfortunate choice you have.

“Willing to pay whatever it takes” may mean paying $700/month when it comes to private insurance. Are you prepared for that??
I may be able to help you find something suitable (for free) if you give me more details. Out of respect for your privacy, feel free to email me. (jenna_bobenna at ymail.com)
