Does a home loan in a foreign country affect getting a home in Australia?

My husband has a home loan in India (for his parents) and we are looking to get a home loan in Australia for ourselves very soon. Will there be any problem when we take out an Australian home loan?

  1. Where's my scooby snack?

I wouldn’t see why not. As far as I know, there are no limits on how many mortgage loans one can have. I don’t know if that applies in foreign countries, though.

As long as you can continue to make your monthly payments, that’s all mortgage companies care about.
