How long is the teen insurance driving period?

Like when you get a license, my friend said there’s a period of time when you have to wait for it to end and then that whole double the insurance thing if you’re a teenager goes off your record. What’s the actual timeline of when it begins or ends? Can’t seem to find it on google?

It might be different in my state.
With us, the insurance rate dropped at age 25.
    Not before.

Typically the rate drops at 18,21, and 25 for unmarried males. Married males it drops at 18 and the final drop is at 21. Meaning a married male at 21 and a single guy at 25 pay the same rates without any surcharge added for age. Females it drops at 18 and the final drop is at 21 for unmarried and drops immediatley for married females.

This is based on a typical policy and may change state to state and based on companies. Each company has their own underwriting guidelines, but this is pretty standard.

    Hope it helps.

You can compare how the insurance quotes would change, for example here – autoinsurance.maclenet.com
