How does an insurance agency work?
How do you open an insurance company? What are things you must consider when doing so? How do you start selling insurance? Is the insurance business even interesting? Why do people choose one insurance provider over another? I’m just curious because I know nothing about the insurance business.

Frankly, if you have no idea how to open an agency, it’s not the business for you.
Most people “dumb into” the field, in my experience. It’s chance, and people who love it, stay.
You don’t ‘start’ an insurance agency if you’re not an insurance agent. It’d be a little tough to get people to work for you if you never sold insurance. You start as an agent or broker and take it from there.

Step 1 is to start at an insurance company. Here you will learn the basics of insurance and how to sell. A point I want to make, you will also learn if you like the business or not. You don’t want to start a business you hate… you’ll fail.

P.S. most people don’t learn this until they are a few years into the business, but most people (prospects) don’t purchase on insurance provider over another, they purchase from one insurance agent over another. If you want to succeed, learn how to solve problems, not sell product.
