I love my dog, River, but taking her medical bills is extremely expensive on my budget. Where do I buy pet insurance? and Will Veterans accept it? Does the insurance work like regular medical insurance for humans?

I’ve listed a several links below, but I’d also ask your veterinarian which plan he or she recommends…

Yes, it does work similarly to some of the more basic health insurance for humans, though there are more exclusions – at least in my experience.

Most (all?) do not cover pre-existing conditions, and outright won’t cover for certain illnesses.
