What should I expect when my employer asks for my license and I give them my permit?
Question by mirandamarie: What should I expect when my employer asks for my license and I give them my permit?
I have my drivers permit and the earliest available appointment to take my behind the wheel test is on October 5th…but when I was interviewing for my job I told them I had a temporary license because I didn’t want to sound so young and I thought they were the same thing…I start work tomorrow and my manager told me to bring my license…what should I expect? Will I get in trouble for “lying”?

i don’t think your will get in trouble…just explain and be honest to them that you thought your permit was considered a temporary license

Are they expecting you to drive on the job tomorrow? Because you can’t and that may mess them up. You had better call and let them know you will be unable to drive until at least Oct 5. Next time, it is always better to be completely upfront about things when applying for a job,, as these things just come out in the end (and how would hiding your permit make them think you were older? They get your birthdate!).
