Can sombody clarify if I am a legal citizen?

Question by Preston: Can sombody clarify if I am a legal citizen?
Can somebody clarify if I am a legal citizen of Florida?

I am 17 years old, with a drivers license in Florida. I have lived here for a few years (5) but was born in Oklahoma.

I am asking, because I was wanting to enter a sweepstakes, but it may be illegal based on my legal residency. I looked around, but only found information on taxation and such. As I am under 18 years of age, and currently unemployed (I am in school), I am a dependent.

So, am I a legal Florida resident? Or am I too young?

Your age indicates that you were probably enrolled in high school.

If you did attend high school in Florida this year, and lived in a Florida residence with a parent or guardian who also lives in Florida, you are indeed a legal resident of Florida.

You also indicate that you have a Florida driver’s license. You still live in Florida, so you are a resident.

You are a legal citizen of the USA since you were born, with proof a birth certificate, or the ablilty to obtain a birth certificate from the county of your birth.
You are a “resident” of Florida, your proof is your drivers liscense. Many contests require the person to be 18, due to taxes that will be associated. Say you win a car, the taxes will be owed on such a prize of value. A tshirt no problem, a washing machine, a tv, car, house, cash, there are taxes on that, so usualy mot sweepstakes are not open to minors, since they cannot enforce a minor to pay the taxes.

You are a legal FL resident. But lots of sweepstakes have age limits also (usually 18) so you might not qualify.
