I am going to France through a study abroad program through my college. In order to apply for a visa, I need a letter from my medical insurance company stating that I will be covered in France, but I think it would be faster to get coverage through an international travel insurer. I’m racing against the clock. I’m searching on the web, but I have no idea what I’m doing really. . What companies are most reputable?

Call your current insurance office and ask for a copy of the Specific Plan Description and a letter stating that the plan will cover students studying abroad. This won’t take long (if the office is doing their job). Getting a separate policy could take weeks, and it will be expensive.

They have review the companies qualifications and stability prior to listing them so all of the companies that you see will be reputable.
Angelique – If you are a Canadian just go to the Royal Bank and ask for their travel insurance # – there you will have all the info you need and competetive prices too.
