How do travel insurance claims work?

Question by Jeracoo: How do travel insurance claims work?
Say i have insurance for my laptop which i purchased say 3 years ago for $ 2000.

If my laptop was stolen would i recieve like goods to the equivalent to what my laptops specs were or to a value equal to that of what i paid?

Insurance claims for travel insurance work in the same way as other insurance claim works. Insured need to intimate his insure about the claim and then assistance will be provided by insure, In this usually all insurer have foreign tie-ups with insurers in foreign locations.
